How to Tiktok: A guide to the platform
Let’s face it, TikTok is THE social media platform to use right now. Content creation has been lifted to a whole new level, which can be overwhelming to those who don’t have experience with video marketing content. Here’s a few of our tips and tricks for successfully using the app!
Keep it light
Most people have the attention span of a goldfish, so let’s give them what they want! Light and engaging content will provide the necessary information to viewers all within a 15-60 second window. Not only will consumers appreciate this, but the TikTok algorithm itself (shorter content gets more views!).
Keep up with trending sounds
Everyday a new song or creator sound blows up on the platform, and can stay relevant from days to months. The app as well as users favour videos which use popular audios, and can be high performing. However, original content is still important! Incorporating who you are and your individuality with popular audios will increase your engagement on TikTok, especially the For You Page. Specifically, if a user has high engagement/interest in a particular audio, the algorithm shows them more videos under that sound.
Mystery is a good thing
We’ve all heard the saying “leave them wanting more”. This phrase applies to your socials! As important as it is to provide informative content, never give all your juice at once! For example, ending your videos saying, “Check out our page for more details!” or “like for part 2!” will send the message that you have more information to share.
